Mr. Bobby Joe Parks, age 65, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Friday, May 1, 2009 at his residence. He was born May 17, 1943 in Atlanta, Georgia, the son of the late Mr. Joseph Fred Parks and the late Mrs. Florence Tiner Parks. He worked as owner and operator of a truck driving business. Mr. Parks was a member of True Gospel Baptist Church in Austell, Georgia. He enjoyed fishing and restoring old cars, but his greatest joy was his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Parks was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Parks and son, Norman Parks. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Kay Knight Parks of Douglasville; his sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Ray Parks of Center, Alabama, Mike and Tammy Parks of Rockmart and Randy and Becky Parks of Acworth; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Wayne Pitts and Linda and Robert Freeman, all of Douglasville; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Thurmond and Alice Parks of Lithia Springs and Gary and Martha Lynn Parks of Douglasville; 7 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastor Tommy Costner officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be his nephews. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Smyrna, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Sunday, May 3, 2009 from 4:00PM until 9:00PM and Monday, May 4, 2009 from 9:00AM until 9:00PM.
