Mr. Bobby “Bob” Emmett Tidwell, 74, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Sunday, September 17, 2017. Born August 26, 1943 in Cartersville, Georgia, son of the late Dewey and Lillie Tidwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister and eight brothers. Bobby was retired from Owens Corning Roofing in Atlanta after 35 years as a mechanic. Bobby loved deer hunting, Braves Baseball, and faithfully watching Georgia Tech Football. He was an avid fan of Kyle Bush. He cherished the time he had with his grandkids. He was a member of True Gospel Baptist Church in Austell. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Diane Tidwell of Lithia Springs; Daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Russell Bottoms of Dawsonville; Grandkids, Casey and Matt Thornell of Dallas, Tori, Emily, and Sam Bottoms all of Dawsonville; sisters-in-law, Darlene Martin of Temple, Terry Hite and Fiance, Barry Myles of Lithia Springs; Hilda Tidwell and Ella Tidwell both of Cumming; Margaret Tidwell of Cartersville and Margaret Hite of Hampton; sisters, Donna Bennett and Judy Morgan of Acworth and brother, Darrell Tidwell of Cartersville; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Pastor Tommy Costner officiating and family eulogy provided by Russell Bottoms. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs. Serving as pallbearers will be Barry Myles, Matt Thornell, Wayne Tidwell, Toby Tidwell, Michael Tidwell, Tim Mulkey, Bruce Sullivan and Lamar Easterwood. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Gunter and Sam Bottoms. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent at www.jones-wynn.com.
