Mrs. Brenda âJoyâ King Freeman, age 75, of Douglasville, passed away, Friday, November 24, 2017. She was born July 18, 1942 in Atlanta the daughter of the late Mr. Ralph Edward King and the late Mrs. Lettie Geneva Lane King. Mrs. Freeman worked as a telephone operator for Southern Bell for many years. She loved crocheting, reading her bible, singing and most of all her family. She was affiliated with Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel Freeman.She was survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Angela and Jon Matherne of Fox Island, WA, Pam and Darren Miller of McDonough; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Connie Kirkpatrick of McDonough; twin sister, Glenda âSueâ King of Douglasville; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Judy King of Douglasville; grandchildren, Chelsea Perez, Chantelle Matherne, Hannah Kirkpatrick, Joseph Matherne, Amy Jordan Miller, and Alyssa Kirkpatrick; great-grandchildren, Torrence Perez, and Lucas Kirkpatrick; nieces, Rhonda Turner, Allison Woody, Teresa King, Regina Nash, and Tara Bailey; numerous extended family also survive. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 4:00 PM from the Chapel of South Cobb Church of Christ with Rev. Tommy Tidwell officiating.
