Brenda Gail Elliott Rakestraw

Mrs. Brenda Elliott Rakestraw, age 58, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Wellstar Cobb Hospital. She was born November 27, 1950, the daughter of the Mr. Coy Elliott and the late Mrs. Lois Nelson Painton. She married the love of her life, Richard Rakestraw on November 5, 1969. She worked as a property manager and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Mableton. She was devoted to her family. She was a devoted and loving wife and she adored her two sons. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, Mr. Richard Rakestraw of Douglasville, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Coy and Kathy Rakestraw of Lithia Springs, GA and Chris and Savanna Rakestraw of Alpharetta, GA; her father and stepmother, Coy Sr. and Carol Elliot of Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Joey Hampton of Smyrna and Lorinda Robbins and Dan Morgan of Oklahoma; brother, Coy Elliott, Jr. of Georgia; stepfather, Marion Painton of Smyrna; three grandchildren, Coy Christopher Rakestraw, Austin Tyler Rakestraw, and Emily Brooke Rakestraw; two unborn grandchildren; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Charles and Gloria Rakestraw of Dallas and Vivian Crutchfield of Lithia Springs; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 2:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Shattles officiating. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
