Mr. Buford Jones Campbell, age 97, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at Wellstar Tranquility Hospice. He was born April 10, 1913 in Metter, Georgia. He retired in 1964 as a Chief Warrant Officer from the U.S. Army after 30 years of devoted service to his country. During his military career he served in World War II and the Korean War. He was a Christian and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Christian Campbell. He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Fay Campbell of Lithia Springs and Barry Campbell of Toccoa; daughter, Sheila Campbell; sister, Mary Toney of Lithia Springs; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Hennesy officiating. Interment and Graveside Service will follow at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with Full Military Honors provided by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Monday, September 20, 2010 from 12 Noon until 5:00 PM.
