Carl "Carlos" Hugo Xaver Wirz, 75, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025. He was born on March, 21, 1950 in Schwyz, Switzerland to the late Maria Magdelena Reichmuth Wirz and Karl Martin Franz Wirz.

Carlos was an accomplished Master Chef, successful restauranter and passionate culinary educator who received numerous gold and silver awards for his accomplishments working around the globe for different kitchens and restaurants. Carlos had a heart of gold - he had a passion for teaching and being a mentor. He was a well-travelled man, his teaching took him all over the globe, from Europe, Canada, South America and the Caribbean - he was fluent in 8 languages.

Carlos was a bright light in the lives of everyone who knew him - leaving a mark on those that knew him. His passing has left a huge space in our hearts. He was a father, a joker, a stellar chef, a traveler, a friend, a hero, a hope giver, a creative, MacGuyver, a Yoda, a believer, a positive soul. He saw the sparkle in each of us, and loved us all for it. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Carlos is survived by his two daughters, Natasha Wirz and Alexandra Wirz; three grandchildren, Augustine, Priya and Persais; sister, Angela Wirz; and brother, Hugo Wirz.

In accordance with Carlos' wishes, he was aquamated.
