Carl Eugene Strickland

Mr. Carl Eugene Strickland, 87, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, March 10, 2008 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. He was born February 3, 1921 in Maryville, TN the son of the late Mr. Garrett Strickland and the late Mrs. Hettie Denton Strickland. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. In 1985 he retired as a security guard from Flower Hospital in Toledo, OH. He was a member of LifePoint Ministries in Douglasville. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Julia Irene Presley; brothers, J.H. Strickland and Garrett Strickland. He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Robert Krouse of Douglasville, GA; Clara and C.J. Lunsford of Swanton, OH; and Donna Clark of Adrian, MI; sister, Lena Murray of Loudon, TN; brothers, Reed Strickland of Dalton, GA and Blev and Elizabeth Strickland of Trussville, AL; 8 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 7:00 PM from the LifePoint Ministries Church with Pastor Roland Yarbourough officiating. Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park in Toledo, OH at a later date. The family will receive friends at LifePoint Ministries Church, Thursday, March 13, 2008 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
