Carmen Puckett Southerland

Carmen Puckett Southerland, 45, of Cleveland, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2026. She was born on August 26, 1981, the daughter of Samuel Ray Puckett and Debra Louise Boswell .

Carmen will be remembered as a beautiful person, an angel among us, whose sweet heart and selfless spirit touched the lives of those around her. She was known for being helpful to others, offering care and compassion in ways that left a lasting impression.

She devoted her professional life to serving as a counselor in rehabilitation center, a role that reflected the generosity and concern for others that defined her life. Her commitment to learning also marked her path, and she earned respect and love wherever she went.

Beyond her work, Carmen found joy in simple and meaningful things. She loved flowers and enjoyed watching them grow, taking delight in their beauty and quiet promise. She also dearly loved her grandbabies, who had her heart and brought her deep happiness.

She is preceded in death by her father in law, Byron “Buck” Southerland Sr.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carmen is survived by her loving husband, Byron L Southerland Jr. of Cleveland, Georgia; daughters, Madison Puckett of Carrollton, Georgia, Heaven(Gabe) McClain of Toccoa, Georgia, and Atalie Southerland of Cleveland, Georgia; son, Mason (Hailey) Mitchell of Rockmart, Georgia; sister, Stephanie Holland of Carrollton, Georgia, Amber (George) Smith; brothers, Jake (Hannah) Puckett of Rockmart, Georgia; grandchildren, Mayleigh, Daelon, Charlotte, Calvin, and Ford; aunt, Brenda Carnes; cousins, Jennifer Carnes and Wes (Hope) Carnes; and several nieces and nephews.

Carmen’s life was one of kindness, warmth, and giving. She will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who were blessed to know her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 24, 2026 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel with funeral services conducted on Friday, September 25, at 3:00 PM with Pastor Sam Braswell officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memories Garden.
