Carol Jean Smith

Mrs. Carol Jean Smith, age 53, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at her residence. She was born January 16, 1956 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Mr. Walter Carl Price Sr. and Mrs. Ruby Arlene Hammond Price. She was a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Church of God. She was known for loving children and enjoyed babysitting. She was a people person and everyone that knew her, loved her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Thomas Richard “Ricky” Smith. She is survived by her mother Mrs. Ruby Arlene Hammond Price; step daughters Peggy Smith, Becky Hilyard, and Sherry Smith of Calhoun; sisters Shirley Lynn Turner of Texas, and Rebecca Elaine Bundy of Colorado Springs; brothers Walter Carl Price, Jr., and Steven Edward Price of Douglasville; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 24th, 2009 at 1:00 PM from the Calvary Church of God with Pastor Randy Locke, Pastor Vance Murphy, Rev. Steve George and Rev. Carl Price, Jr. officiating. She will lie in state from 12:30 PM until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2009 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Douglas Chapel.
