Carole Hames Newell

Mrs. Carole Hames Newell, age 80 of Winston, Georgia passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020. She was born November 14. 1939, in Atlanta, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. T R Hames and the late Mrs. Goldie Willis Hames. Mrs. Newell was a Douglas County Bus Driver for 27 years. She enjoyed gambling. She was a loving mother, grandmother to two granddaughters. Mrs. Newell was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. L.A. Newell; brother, Larry Hames; sisters, Lavonne Hames and Pat Cash. Mrs. Newell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Al and Gina Newell of Winston, Georgia; sisters and brother-in-law, Linda Chastain of Winston, Georgia and Betty and Bob Lanham of Baltimore, Maryland; brother, Butch Hames of Whitesburg, Georgia; two grandchildren, Taylor and Jordan; several nieces and nephews also survive. We are still providing services to our families based on CDC Covid-19 guidelines. According to Mrs. Newell's wishes, she will be cremated. A Memorial Service will be conducted at a later date.
