Mrs. Catherine Dorris McCrackin Chatham, age 92, of Douglasville passed away, Wednesday, December 19, 2018. She was born May 31, 1926 in Clarksville, the daughter of the late Mr. Julian McCrackin and the late Mrs. Mrytle Bowen McCrackin. Mrs. Chatham was a dedicated wife, loving mother and had a longtime passion for nursing. She was a registered nurse at Douglas County Hospital at the Fairburn Road location. Where she and a Co-worker, assisted in the operation of the Hospital. Mrs. Chatham retired from the Fulton County Public Health. She was a member of Douglasville First Baptist Church.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Edwin Chatham, Sr.; brothers, Julian McCrackin, Frank McCrackin, Donald McCrackin, and Bill McCrackin. She is survived by her son, William “Eddie” Edwin Chatham, Jr. of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Terri and Joe Schival of Douglasville; sister and brother-in-law, JoAnn and “Mac” James of Douglasville; grandchildren, Billy Chatham of Douglasville, Marianthe and Jason Hazenfield of Winston; Yianna and Thanasi Pappas of Tucker, Nicole and Casey Jenkins of Kennesaw, Joey and Brooke Schival of Winston, Jon Schival of Lithia Springs, Desiree Weatherbee of Carrollton; eight great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Friday, December 21, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Dr. John Pennington and Rev. Donald Voyles officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
