Charles Edward Brewer

Mr. Charles Edward Brewer, age 71, of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024. He was born May 23, 1952 in Florence, AL to the late Mr. Clarence Brewer and the late Mrs. Velma Brewer.

Charlie was a dedicated employee who retired from the Douglas County School Transportation Department. He was a member of Chapel Hill Church. He loved his church, small group, and serving the Lord. Charlie was passionate about Alabama football. He not only enjoyed watching the games but also shared his love for ball by coaching his boys in youth sports. Charlie found joy in spending time with his beloved grandchildren. In his free time, Charlie could be found strumming on his guitar. His knack for fixing things and solving problems was unmatched - a true handyman who never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Those who knew Charlie will remember him as a man who always wore a smile, radiating positivity wherever he went. His sweet and kind nature left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross paths with him.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sons, Jason Brewer and Michael Brewer; granddaughter, Ashton Brewer; brother, James Brewer; sister, Doris Wallace.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Regina Brewer; son, Jeremy (Deanna) Brewer of Douglasville; grandchildren, Avery Brewer, Tyler Brewer; sister, Barbara (Jerry) Kirchner of Tuscumbia AL; brother, Kenneth (Mara) Brewer of Muscle Shoals, AL; sister in law, Marilyn (Rick) Sides, Tuscaloosa, AL; special great niece, Katelyn Terry and many other nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Cowan Mill Church at 6614 Cowan Mill Rd. Winston, GA 30187 on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Jeremy Brewer officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cowan Mill Church Youth Ministry or Chapel Hill Church – Kingdom Builders.
