Charles Carroll

Charles Ray Carroll, Sr., 79, of Lithia Springs, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026. He was born on July 27, 1947, the son of the late Raymond Eugene Carroll and the late Betty Poor Carroll.

Charles leaves behind a legacy defined by service, devotion, and a deep commitment to his family. A proud US Army Veteran, Charles dedicated two decades to his country as a military police officer, including the Vietnam War.

Beyond his military achievements, Charles was a man of many interests. He greatly enjoyed making jewelry, and fishing. Above all, Charles will be remembered as a loving grandpa. His love for his grandchildren brought immense joy to his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Veronica Gladney Carroll; brother, Raymond Eugene Carroll; sisters, Brenda Condo, Diane Fenoff.

He is survived by his children, Ed and Vedda Midura of Tampa, Florida; Charles and Kelly Carroll of Lithia Springs; sister, Wanda Patterson of Atlanta; brother, Chuck Carroll; grandchildren, Caitlin Barnes, Cameron Carroll, Connor Carroll, Courtney Carroll, John Midura, and Anthony Midura; great-grandchildren, Jackson Barnes, Sophia Barnes, J.P. Midura, Virginia Midura, and Eve Midura; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel with funeral services conducted on at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Temperance Church Cemetery.
