Charles "Darrell" Morgan, 53, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 18, 1972 in Villa Rica, Georgia to Christine Morgan and the late Charles Herschel Morgan. Throughout his life, Charles found simple yet profound joys that showed a deep appreciation for the world around him and quiet moments of comfort.
Darrell enjoyed being outside where he could absorb the fresh air and the beauty of nature. The gentle melodies of birds chirping and singing brought him happiness and a sense of peace. Television offered another source of enjoyment for Darrell, particularly the game show "Family Feud". Additionally, he found comfort in the presence of friendly voices, a soothing aspect of his everyday life. Darrell also found joy in the simple act of riding in his van, appreciating the changing landscapes and the motion that connected him to the world.
Charles Darrell Morgan will be remembered for his gentle spirit and the quiet happiness he carried with him. His life reminds us that comfort and joy often reside in the small, tender moments—whether in the songs of birds, the laughter on a television screen, or the rhythmic hum of a car ride.
He is mourned by those who knew and loved him, who will carry forward the memory of his presence and the peace he found in the world around him. May his soul rest in heavenly serenity, embraced by the grace of the natural world he so deeply appreciated.
He is preceded in death by his father, Mr. Charles Herschel Morgan.
He is survived by his loving mother, Mrs. Christine Morgan; sister and brother-in-law, Tonya and Shawn Cox; nieces, Dana (Brandon) Mallett and Erin (Taylor) Burton, great niece and nephew, Finley and Elijah; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.
The family is so very appreciative of the love and dedication from all of the caregivers who so faithfully served and provided for Darrell throughout his life. Thank you so much.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Following the visitation, a graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at Mozley Memorial Gardens: 3180 S Sweetwater Rd., Lithia Springs, GA 30122.
