Mr. Charles E. Kennedy, 87, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Monday, December 6, 2010 at WellStar Douglas Hospital. He was born April 23, 1923 in Jackson, Mississippi, the son of the late Mr. Charlie Ross Kennedy and the late Mrs. Lucy Lamb Kennedy. He worked as a construction surveyor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell Higginbotham Kennedy. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Diane Walker of Bremen, Deborah and Donald Winiecki of Douglasville, Nancy and William Bragg of Lithia Springs; sisters, Frances Martin, Alice Howard and AnnaBelle Mayes all of Huntsville, AL; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, December 9, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. Jimmy Graham officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Harmony Memorial Gardens in Mableton. The following will serve as pallbearers: Shane Bragg, Steven Walker, Eric Ellis, Donald Winiecki, Steve Walker, Bruce Walker, and Chris Couch. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, December 9, 2010 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Mr. Charles E. Kennedy may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent from www.jones-wynn.com.
