Mr. Charles Edmond Buckner, age 67, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at WellStar Douglas Hospital. He was born March 19, 1944 in Memphis, Tennessee the son of Mrs. Martha Nelle Parham Brooks and the late Mr. Fred Lafayette Buckner. His first career was as a Regional Sales Director for Atco Manufacturing Company. He later worked as a truck driver for Bennett Motor Express. His greatest love was working as Santaâs Helper in malls all over the United States for the last 16 years. He was of the Methodist Faith. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Elaine Smith Buckner of Douglasville; his daughter, Kimberly Anne Addington of Douglasville; sons, Robert Joseph Buckner of Sugar Hill and Donald Thomas Buckner of San Antonio, TX; stepsons, Phillip Michael Plemons of Lithia Springs and Rodney Lewis Plemons of Foley, AL; his mother, Martha Nelle Brooks of Tampa, FL; sister, Joanne Moore of Ocala, FL; 12 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, April 29, 2011 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Shirley officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Thursday, April 28, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
