Mr. Charles Raymond Gayton Sr., age 88 of Douglasville, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019. He was born August 31, 1930 the son of the late Mr. Stovis Gayton and Mrs. Pauline Gayton. He loved golfing, fishing, bowling, and coloring. He was a part time comedian who loved western movies. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Mary Katherine Camp Gayton; son-in-law, Richard Eugene Lambert; brother, Bud Gayton; sister, Hazel Bryson. He is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Christine Lambert of Douglasville, Cathy and Raymond Todd Danielsville; son, Charles Raymond Gayton Jr. of Carrollton; brother and sister-in-law, B.R. and Irene Gayton of Covington; two grandchildren and spouse, Heather and Curtis Mitchell, and Austin Gibson; three great grandchildren, Blake Smith and fiancé, Hannah Walters, and Justin Smith; two great great grandchildren, Bentley and Tristian Smith; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglasville on Saturday, January 26, 2019 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jim Grieme officiating.
