Charles "Sam" Samuel Goff, 72, of Destin, Florida, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025. He was born on February 21, 1953, in Douglasville, Georgia to the late Charles H. Goff and Dottie Cain Goff. Sam lived a life which was led by strong faith, joy and positivity.
Sam graduated from Douglas County High School in 1971, where he was a football player. He went on to study at North Georgia College and Bible Baptist University in Florida. After college, he served as a Pastor at several small churches in Alabama and Florida. He worked for several years at Farm Bureau as a Sales Agent and then Agency Manager. During retirement, he would stay busy by working as a Sales Representative for Lowe's and assisting his HOA Board.
Mr. Goff's personality was unforgettable - he was charismatic, fun, loving, spunky, positive and resilient. He had a big heart, a quick smile, and was a "people-person" who seemed to never have a bad day. In his free time, Sam loved spending time in the great outdoors while fishing, golfing, boating, or simply being near the ocean. He loved listening to music, watching football, and always knew where to find the best seafood! His wonderful legacy is one that will never be forgotten.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Sam is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica (Lee) Langley; son and daughter-in-law, Joshua (Bernadette) Goff; Doris Goff; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alicia (Anthony) Griffith, Susan (Mark) Herrington, Amy Ellis, Wanda (Mark) Evans, and Shelia (Fred) Gilkeson; and three granddaughters, Katelyn and Lauryn Langley and Adrielle Goff.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Jones- Wynn Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Sunrise Gardens of Memories in Douglasville, Georgia.
