Charles Griffeth

Charles Ranford Griffeth, 99, transitioned Saturday, June 25, 2016. Born in Madison County, GA, he was the son of the late James Ellis and Susie Morris Griffeth. Mr. Griffeth served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and retired from Providence Printing. He was a member of Central Baptist Church, Douglasville, GA. Surviving are daughter, Sharon Johnson and husband, Thad, of Atlanta, GA; stepdaughter, Tena M. Andrews and husband, Michael, of Easley; stepson, J. Todd Jamison of Greenville; sister, Verdah Looper of Greenville; six grandchildren, Dawn Bennett, Shannon Watson, Alan Andrews, Melanie Andrews, John Underwood, Jerry Underwood, and Shannon Underwood, who was also his caregiver; and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Landreth Griffeth; his second wife, Mary Kathleen Jamieson Griffeth; and son, Steve Griffeth. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Downtown Chapel. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
