Charles Hanson

Mr. Charles Franklin Hanson, age 84, of Carrollton, passed away, Friday, April 14, 2017. He was born April 9, 1933, the son of the late Mr. George Martin Hanson and the late Mrs. Fannie Lou Womack Hanson. Mr. Hanson was a self-employed carpenter and farmer. He raised cows for many years and enjoyed working in his garden to feed his family and friends.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Edna Collins, Annie Mae Farr, Ovie Steadham, and Louise Chance.He is survived by his wife, Reba Joyce Chandler Hanson of Carrollton; daughter and son-in-law, Joyce Millians and Jon Stamps of Temple; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Tricia Hanson of Hickory Level; brothers and sisters-in-law, Harold and Rudene Hanson of Sandhill, Robert and Ruth Hanson of Carrollton; grandchildren, Jerome Millians, Natalie Webb, Chuck Hanson, and Misty Millians; great-grandchildren, Shana Hulsey, Dylan Webb, Gavin Millians, Owen Millians, Brison Payne, Kyle Bailey, and Jackson White; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica, Monday, April 17, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. He will lie in state at Consolation Baptist Church in Whitesburg from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 2:00 PM from Consolation Baptist Church in Whitesburg with Rev. Carlin Phillips, Rev. Mike Powers and Mr. Jerome Millians officiating. Interment will follow at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens in Villa Rica. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Brian Carden, Jason Stitcher, Donald Chance, Benny Rivers, Bryant Bradley, Neil Ricks, Michael Blair, Terry Chandler, and Barry Yarborough and honorary pallbearers will be Bill Chandler, James Rivers, Randy Carden, Hoss Ricks, and Allen Martin.Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
