Mr. Charles Larry (Paw) Herring, age 69, of Douglasville, passed away Friday, November 29, 2013. He was born April 15, 1944 in Atlanta, GA. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart and Sliver Star Medal for gallantry in battle. After military service he owned and operated Precise Maintenance and Silver Star Service in Douglasville until his retirement in 2008. He was a devote family man, enjoyed being in his boat fishing with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, William Barrett of GA: brother, Donnie Herring of GA; brother-in-law and best friend, Jerry Turner of AL. He is survived by his wife of fifty years,Fannie Lee (McEntyre) Herring; mother, Judy Henderson of Mableton, GA; sisters, Joyce Turner of Valley, AL, Teresa Mashburn of Mableton, GA; brother, Gordy Barrett of Marietta, GA; four children, son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Tamara Herring of Douglasville; daughter, Dennis Harris of Douglasville, daughter and son-in-law, Monica and Marty Bundrum of Temple, GA, daughter and son-in-law, Michele and Richard Aiken of Temple, GA; eleven grandchildren, Christopher Aiken, Rachelle Rudick and husband Andrew Rudick, Cody Harris and wife Heidi, Steven Merk, Chase Herring, Lashay Harris, Maranda Herring, Marlana Harmon and husband Shane, Katlin East, Lance Bundrum, Dawson Bundrum; two great grandchildren, Braylen and Charleigh Harmon. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Sunday, December 1, 2013 from 11:00 AM until 9:00 PM and Monday, December 2, 2013 from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, December 2, 2013 at 3:00 PM from the chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Jordan officiating.
