Charles Howard (Pete) Linger, 87, of Carrollton, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2026. He was born on March 19, 1939 in Waverly, West Virginia to the late Edith Pearl (Linger) Moore and George (Dutch) James Moore.

Charles was a man of many trades, retiring after a successful career as an owner/operator and truck driver. He enjoyed the great outdoors - especially deer hunting and spending time at the lake. His favorite song was "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Diane Linger; daughter, Christa Lynn Linger (from his first marriage to Bonnie Duncan Brown); grandson, Richard Lamar Saylors II; sisters, Cathy Christine Moore and Ann (Moore) Jarvis; and brother, Joseph Moore.

He is survived by his daughters, Cathy Beil (Randy) of Sharpsburg, Georgia and Cynthia Saylors (Richard) of Senioa, Georgia; four grandchildren, Adam Beil, Stephanie Beil (Matt), Heather (Saylors) Breen (Kevin) and William Saylors (Dana); eight great-grandchildren, Haylea (Beil) Crockett (Tony), Brooke Beil, Joey Nesler, Justin Nesler, Ava Grijalva, Zoe Grijalva, Connor Breen and Elijah Saylors; brothers, George Moore (Linda) and John Moore; sister, Mary Kelsey; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private inurnment will take place at Meadowbrook Memory Gardens.

Charles' memory will live on through his family and friends who miss him dearly.
