Charles Junior Maddox, 80, of Douglasville, GA, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025. He was born on April 25, 1945, the son of the late Mac Maddox and the late Gladys Tucker Maddox.
He was a dedicated machinist whose strong work ethic and passion for his work left a lasting impact on those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Charles had a personality that radiated warmth and care. He formed an inseparable bond with his beloved dog, Tiny, sharing countless moments of joy and companionship. Charles’s love for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for hunting and fishing, where he found serenity and fulfillment.
In addition to his pursuits in nature, he enjoyed working with his hands whether it was on a car, lawnmower, sewing machine or making his own fishing lures. His willingness to help others was known to his friends and family and he never hesitated to lend a helping hand as long as he was able.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his twelve siblings; and his grandchild Joey Umbro.
He is survived by his sons, Mark (Denise) Maddox and Jonathan Maddox; six grandchildren, Jessica Maddox, Christy Maddox, Amanda (Frankie) Gonzalez, Gregory (Bri) Smith, Lane (Ashton) Maddox and Andrew (Rhiannon) Maddox; and fourteen great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel with Pastor Mike Mallory officiating.
Interment will follow at West Georgia Memorial Park in Carrollton, Georgia.
Charles leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for both his family and his passions. He will be remembered fondly by all whose lives he touched and will be deeply missed.
