Charles Morgan

Mr. Charles Herschel Morgan, age 80, of Douglasville, passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019. He was born April 22, 1939, the son of the late Mr. Rollie Orien Morgan and the late Mrs. Helen Beatrice Borden Morgan. Mr. Morgan graduated from White Plains High School in Alabama and was a self-employed trim carpenter for many years. He enjoyed farming, woodworking and piddling with old Fords. Mr. Morgan was of the Baptist faith.In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters-in-law, identical twin Marshall Morgan, Kenneth Morgan and his wife Lee and Jerry Morgan and his wife Marie; sister, Carolyn Ponder; brother-in-law, Nathaniel Ponder.He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Peggy Christine Faulkner Morgan of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Tonya Morgan Cox and Shawn Cox of Winston; his son, Charles “Darrell” Morgan; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Nell Ponder of Piedmont, Alabama, Vivian and Johnny Mack Brown of Jacksonville, Alabama and Gail and Steve Pollard of Jacksonville, Alabama; sister-in-law, Teen Morgan of Douglasville; his brother and his wife, Sam and Dodie Morgan of Piedmont, Alabama; brother-in-law, Hugh Ponder of Piedmont, Alabama; two granddaughters, Dana Cox of Marietta and Erin Cox Burton and her husband Taylor Burton of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; many nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville Tuesday, June 4, 2019 from 11:00AM until 1:00PM.Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at 1:00PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville with Mr. Chad Brown officiating.
