Charles Thomas

Mr. Charles Verdell Thomas, age 78 of Villa Rica, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019. He was born June 3, 1941 in Florence, AL, the son of the late Sylvia Thomas and Governor. Charles Thomas, a retired Army M.Sgt., was a member of the Elite Special Forces. He received multiple awards and commendations during his military career of more than 30 years. Charles Thomas was an active member of the International Lion's Club, Disabled Veteran's, Veterans of Foreign Wars and a lifetime member of the Buffalo Soldiers- 9th & 10th Cavalry.Mr. Charles Thomas is survived by his wife, Mrs. Cheryl Williams Thomas of Villa Rica, GA; children, Yasmin Thomas of Memphis, TN, Michael and Karola Thomas of Berlin, Germany, Kim and Wendell Kennedy of Douglasville, GA, Linda and Charles Beal of Douglasville, GA, Lawrence Williams Jr. of Cleveland, GA; six grandchildren, Nikki, Derek, Cynthia, Korey, Samantha, and Jordan; one great grandchild, Samyah; numerous nieces and nephews.The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville, Sunday, July 14, 2019 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted, Monday, July 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home of Douglasville.
