Charlie Goff, age 92, a beloved husband, father and friend, passed away on July 16, 2024. He was born on May 24, 1932 in Villa Rica, Georgia to the late Mr. William H. Goff and the late Mrs. Lillie Stewart Goff.
Charlie’s career was as an Accountant, and he also co-owned a commercial carpet manufacturing business. In his retired year’s, he served many clients both personal and professional providing tax preparation services. He was also known for his love of buying, selling and trading everything from cars to office equipment and many other things; he had a true entrepreneurial gift.
Charlie was a devoted deacon for 44 years at County Line Baptist Church. In more recent years he and his wife Doris have been members of Ephesus Baptist Church in Villa Rica, GA, where they enjoyed Life Group, and he served as a greeter. Also, he proudly served his country in the US Army for a number of years.
Throughout his life, Charlie was described as someone who was giving, a servant, a mentor and a caregiver. He enjoyed nurturing young minds as he taught junior boys in Sunday School. In addition to his strong faith and servant’s heart, Charlie found joy in simple pleasures like fishing, engaging in church and community activities and volunteering for Meals on Wheels.
He will be remembered for his witty and outgoing personality, and smile that could light up any room - no one Charlie ever met was a stranger. He effortlessly connected with others and embodied the qualities of a generous and thoughtful man.
Charlie is preceded in death by Mrs. Dottie Cain Goff; son-in-laws, Chuck Ellis and Paul Bebout, 7 brothers and 3 sisters.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Mrs. Doris Goff; son, Charles "Sam" Goff; daughters, Susan (Mark) Herrington, Wanda (Mark) Evans, Amy Ellis, Alicia (Anthony) Griffith, and Shelia (Fred) Gilkeson; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.

The family will receive friends on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville. The interment will follow at Sunrise Gardens of Memories in Douglasville.
