Mr. Charlie J. "Chuck" Puckett, age 87, of Douglasville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2020. He was born November 8, 1932 in LaGrange, Troup County, Georgia, to the late Charles Collie Puckett and the late Maggie Mae Lester Puckett. Chuck graduated from Russell High School and went on to serve in the United States Coast Guard. After returning home, Chuck worked in the automobile business for East Point Ford, East Point Chevrolet, Heritage Cadillac and was the sales manager at Capital Cadillac. Chuck possessed a strength, will and determination that led him to be the owner/operator of the first Datsun, Nissan and Chrysler dealerships in Carrollton, known as West Georgia Datsun, Carrollton Car Center and Peoples Dodge.
Since 1998, Chuck devoted his time to managing many real estate holdings throughout the West Georgia area and Wedowee, Alabama. Chuck was on the board of directors for United Community Bank in Carrollton and Integrity Bank in Alpharetta. He served on the board of directors for the Women's Abuse Shelter in Carrollton. Chuck was a founding member of the Chapelhill Church in Douglasville. Chuck had many great achievements in his life.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Peggy Barber Puckett; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Regina Puckett of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Valerie and Paul Ducasse of Douglasville; grandchildren, Ryan Puckett, Jennifer and Marty Gareau, Stefanie Drake and Christopher and Sarah Ducasse; four great-granddaughters; a special nephew, John Christopher; sister, Jean Bozeman of Mississippi; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Ann White of Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
We are still providing services to our families based on CDC Covid-19 guidelines. A private graveside service will be held at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville with Pastor Dave Divine officiating.
