Cherie Hopkins McAnsh

Mrs. Cherie Hopkins McAnsh, 75, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 1, 2006 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born April 25, 1931 in Fulton County, Georgia the daughter of the late Henry Sloan Hopkins and the late Eva Geraldine Scarborough Hopkins. She married James Frankin McAnsh on September 28, 1949 in Fulton County, Georgia. She worked as a beauty consultant for Merle Norman. She was a member of Central Baptist Church in Douglasville. She served as a Sunday School Teacher for many years at New Hope Baptist Church and Pray’s Mill Baptist Church. She served as a Girl Scout Leader. She was a seamstress enjoying crocheting and needle work. She enjoyed cooking, floral arranging, and interior design. She was a loving and gracious wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Franklin McAnsh on May 2, 2006. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Peter Ulrich of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Rebecca Lynn and Ray Rathel of Douglasville; one sister and brother-in-law, Dianne and Ben Arnold of Hayesville, NC; one grandson, Timothy James “T.J.” Rathel of Douglasville; several nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be conducted Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 7:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with W.A. Howell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 from 6:00 PM until the service time. Messages of condolences to the family may be sent to www.jones-wynn.com.
