Cheryl Ann Chambers, 68, of Douglasville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Friday, January 2, 2026. She was born on August 7, 1957, the daughter of the late Thomas Mack Bishop and the late Frances Yearty Bishop.
Cheryl was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She adored her children and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the pride of her heart. Her love for them was evident in the way she delighted in each of their individual lives. Many will remember Cheryl for her special love for serving in the nursery at her church. Where she cared for and nurtured countless babies over the years, sharing her warmth and kindness, and providing a safe place for parents and children. Her involvement in the church was a reflection of her love for Jesus and His people, and the impact of her love will be felt for generations to come.
Despite many years of battling various illnesses and disease, she didn’t let that define her. With kindness, faith, and genuine care, she ministered to hundreds of nurses, doctors, and other patients throughout her time in the hospital. Her ability to offer encouragement and hope even in her own suffering, is just one example of the kind of woman she was. Cheryl served her family, her church, and her community selflessly, as a source of strength and support in the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, Shannon and Amanda Chambers of Douglasville; daughter, Shea Chambers of Temple; grandchildren, Breanna Tharpe, Kaylin Tharpe, Sydnie Morris, Andrew Millians, Audra Fernandez, Noah Weaver; great-grandchildren, Tatum, Koa, Avalynn; and her loyal companion and best friend, Chloe Jane.
In accordance with her wishes, she was cremated. The family will have a memorial service on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 2pm at New Season Church in Hiram, Ga.
As we remember Cheryl Chambers, we celebrate a life marked by love, compassion, and dedication. She will be terribly missed.
