Christopher Hugh Chapman

Christopher Hugh Chapman, 67, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025. He was born on October 27, 1958, the son of the late Robert Hugh Chapman and the late Dorothy Lee Carter Smith.

Chris was a hard-worker and an avid sports fan, who loved to spend time with his family and grandkids. Chris enjoyed watching Georgia Bulldogs football and cheering for the Atlanta Braves. His passion for these teams often brought joy and excitement into his life. Chris also liked to watch old westerns and the iconic series Star Trek. Fishing was another hobby he had.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandchild, Gigi Durham; sister, Belinda Wiggins.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer and Duncan Lawson of Greenville, South Carolina and Laura Durham of Carrollton; siblings, Alan and Sandy Chapman of Bremen; Becky Chapman and Cindy Chapman both of Kingsland, GA; four grandchildren, Novak Duncan Lawson, Ellesey Durham, Maycee Steele, Archer Rakestraw; ex-wife and friend, Linda Everett of Carrollton; numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 20, 2025 from 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM at Douglasville Church of God of Prophecy with a memorial service at 12:30 PM with Rev. Anthony Cain and Rev. Jerry Smith officiating.
