Christopher Dru Chowning

Christopher Dru Chowning, 65, passed away on Good Friday, April 3, 2026. He was born on September 22, 1960, the son of the late Charles Edward Chowning, Sr. and Marjorie Jane Chandley Chowning.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bruce Richard Chowning and Gregory Michael Chowning.

He is survived by his brother, Charles Chowning, Jr. of Andrews, North Carolina and his nephews, Justin Chowning and Eddie Chowning.

Christopher was a graduated from North Druid Hills Highschool. He loved living in his downtown apartment in Decatur, where he enjoyed walking to restaurants and shops. Christopher was of the Episcopal faith and he attended Holy Comforter Episcopal Church. His hobbies included listening to music and books.

In according to his wishes, he was cremated. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.
