Chuck Fountain

September 4, 1922 — July 11, 2012

Mr. Charles “Chuck” Bernard Fountain, age 89, of Fairburn, Georgia passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at home. He was born September 4, 1922 in Carrollton, Georgia the son of the late Mr. James Owen Monroe Fountain and the late Mrs. Gertrude Etta Ayers Fountain. He served in the United States Coast Guard during World War II. He married Adele Blaskow on April 20, 1946 in New York City, New York. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He loved farming and worked as a landscaper and operated a nursery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Verma Mae Holland and Juanita Fountain Wynn; and brothers, W.R. “Bill” Fountain and Curtis Allen Fountain. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Adele Blaskow Fountain; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lynda and Richard Averack of Clarkesville, GA, Tress and Frank Nichols of Jacksonville, FL, and Janis Fountain of Fairburn, GA; two grandsons, Casey Nichols and Mitchell Nichols; several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Batpist Church, 5675 Campbellton-Fairburn Highway (Highway 92) Fairburn, Georgia 30213 wtih Dr. Oscar T. Cope officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of Mr. C.B. "Chuck" Fountain may be made to Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com.
