Cindy Lou Merritt, 55, of Temple died on Monday, May 31, 2010 after a brief illness. Cindy was the daughter of the late Arthur Rumage and the late Nell Rumage of Hagerstown, Md. She was a community volunteer, a Sunday school teacher, Girl Scout leader, past president of the Pride of Temple Marching Band Boosters, and many other volunteer activities. Cindy was an inspiration to many children during her many years of working at the Carroll County School System. Cindy loved dance, music, traveling, and all things Disney. She loved decorating her home in Temple for Christmas and drew many visitors in awe of her decorating talents. Cindy is survived by her husband of 35 years, Clinton Eugene Merritt, Jr., her daughters Jessie Lynn Rogers, and Lindsey Ann Merritt, grandchildren Dylan, Charity, Kelsey, and Destiny. Many other relatives and friends also survive. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 3, at 4:00PM at Jones-Wynn Chapel in Villa Rica, GA. Interment will follow at Peaceful Meadows Cemetery in Dallas, GA. The family will meet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 2 from 6-9PM.
