Clarence "Eddie" Goolsby, 74, of Lithia Springs, passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. He was born in West Point, Georgia on January 7, 1950 to the late Clarence Elmer Goolsby and the late Mildred Maggaline Tripp Goolsby.
Eddie served proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was Commander of AMVETS Post 118 in Lithia Springs. Eddie was a humanitarian, never meeting a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off of his back. Eddie found great joy in his family; he always loved them through any situation. He had a knack for making people laugh with his quick wit and sense of humor. In his spare time, he also loved working on cars.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, James Goolsby.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Tonya Goolsby, of Douglasville; daughter, Christy Goolsby; three grandchildren, Jesse Brewer, Jacob Morris and Ashley Gooch; two great-grandchildren, Jacen Brewer and Elijah Morris; two sisters and brother-in-law, Katherine Tatro of Mableton, Ann and Howard Porter of Cumming, Georgia; life partner, Mary Wiley of Lithia Springs; several nieces and nephews also survive.
According to Eddie's wishes, he was cremated, a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
