Clarence Henry Proctor, Jr., 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026. He was born on October 13, 1941, the son of the late Clarence Henry Proctor, Sr. and the late Wyoming Utah Ratledge.
Clarence lived a life rich with love, faith, and unwavering commitment to his family and community. From a young age, Clarence embraced his role in the Church. His deep-seated faith was evident in his daily life, where he found joy in serving as a deacon and participating in various areas of his beloved church. For Clarence, the church was not just a place of worship; it was a vital part of who he was. His dedication to his faith resonated through his actions.
Clarence was a man whose love for his family defined his life. He cherished every moment spent with them. He was a devoted as a son, husband, father and friend. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his generous heart, and his fervent belief in the goodness of others.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Ayers Proctor; brother, Danny Proctor; sister, Katherine Lee.
He is survived by his children, David and Ronnie Proctor, Steve and Sharon Proctor all of Douglasville; brother-in-law, Larry Ayers of Carrollton; sister-in-law, Louise Proctor of Douglasville; grandchildren, Lucas Proctor, Tiffany Womack, Taylor Weaver and Lane Proctor; great-grandchildren, Brandon Womack, Brylin Womack, Oliver Long, Braven Long, Rylee Ward, and Reagan Proctor; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 5, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM with Preacher Matt Johnson officiating.
While Clarence may have departed from this world, his legacy of faith and commitment will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
