Mr. Claude Hope Pate, 76, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, April 20, 2016. He was born September 18, 1939 in Douglasville, Georgia the son of the late Mr. Clarence Pate and the late Mrs. Sarah Octavia Shead Pate. He was a veteran of the United States Army who was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a warehouse clerk. He loved horses and he raised beagles. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting and fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby D. Hulsey Pate in 2005; sisters, Josephine Miller and Christine New; and brother, Curtis Pate. He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald “Keith” and Alice Buchanan of Douglasville and Barry Kenneth “Ken” and Karen Buchanan of Powder Springs; brother and sister-in-law, David and Joyce Pate of Fairburn; three grandchildren, Melissa McKeown and her husband, Glenn of Douglasville, Ashley Buchanan of North Carolina, and Jessica Buchanan of Douglasville; great-grandchildren; Haley Eriquezzo, Michelle Eriquezzo, Jaxson McKeown, and Savanah Head; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, April 22, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Rev. James Biddy officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Messages of condolence to the family may be sent at www.jones-wynn.com.
