Mr. Claude Vincent Morris, age 82, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Cedar Hill Assisted Living in Cedartown, Georgia following a brief illness. He was born June 2, 1927 in Palmetto, Georgia the son of the late Mr. David Alonzo Morris and the late Mrs. Della Cunningham Morris. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Myrtice Lenora Wiley on December 23, 1950. He retired from the Fulton County Animal Control. After retiring, he worked for the Douglas County School System and Wal-Mart. He enjoyed working on cars, doing yard work, and helping family and friends when and wherever needed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Myrtice Lenora Wiley Morris on October 27, 2003 and four brothers and one sister. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Vincent âVinceâ and Deborah Morris of Douglasville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be conducted Friday, March 19, 2010 at 1:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Pastor Jerome Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday, March 19, 2010 from 9:00 AM until the funeral hour.
