Mr. Claude William James, age 92, of Lithia Springs, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2019. He was born on April 27, 1927, in East Point, Georgia, the son of late Mr. Claude Edward James and the late Mrs. Margaret Imogene Hudson James. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during WWII. Mr. James worked for and retired from Georgia Power in records management. He loved horses, camping, motorcycles, dogs, hunting, fishing, bird hunting and being a Shriner. Mr. James was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of over 70 years, Mrs. Marilyn Clawson James of Lithia Springs; his daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie and Jay Gevin of Stone Mountain and Cindy and Randy Pickett of Douglasville; grandchildren, Justin Scott and Brittany Pickett of Villa Rica, Mallorie and John Peranich of Douglasville and Mike and Alexa Gevin of Alpharetta; great-grandchildren, Ellie Peranich, Rhett Pickett, Emmie Peranich, Hayes Pickett and another due in July.
According to his wishes, Mr. James will be cremated.
The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 12:00PM until 1:00PM. A Memorial Service with military honors provided by the United States Navy Honor Guard will be conducted, Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 1:00PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Barry Thompson officiating.
