Claudia Ruth Weathington

Mrs. Claudia Ruth Weathington, 88, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Douglasville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Douglasville. She was born August 8, 1916 in Douglas County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. Walter Selman Prickett and the late Mrs. Vera Heaton Prickett. She married Kermit Elisha Weathington on August 14, 1932 in Dallas, Georgia. Mrs. Weathington was a member of Beulah Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher and volunteered with Vacation Bible School. She was a cook at Beulah Elementary and in her younger years enjoyed gardening and sewing. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Elisha Weathington and one daughter, Barbara Williams. Mrs. Weathington is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Kent Deal of Douglasville; one son, David Weathington of Douglasville, one brother and sister-in-law, Blaine and Dot Prickett of Douglasville; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 1, 2005 at 11:00 AM from the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel with the Rev. Bryan Alexander officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 30, 2005 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM from the Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel.
