Mr. Clayton Allen Coffey, 58, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014. He was born November 29, 1955 in Hayesville, North Carolina, the son of the late R.B. and Lora Belle Roach Coffey. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force with 24 years of honorable service. He worked as the General Manager at Allied Aviation at Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta. He was a devoted member of St. Julian’s Episcopal Church where he participated in the Starting Over Program. He was actively involved in Douglas County community events. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Junior, Barry, and Mitchell Coffey. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Debra “Debi” McGill Coffey of Douglasville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Karie and Brad Knight of Douglasville, formerly of Charleston, SC; and Lora and Ben Adams of Murphy, NC; two grandchildren, Tanner Adams and Chloe Adams; sisters and a brother-in-law, Sue and Joe McClure of Rydall and Barbara Davenport of Hayesville, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Ruth Coffey, Eddie Coffey, and Ronnie and Jackie Coffey all of Hayesville, NC; father-in-law, Ralph McGill of Murphy, NC; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Karen and Bob Jordan of White, GA and Charlie and Tracy McGill of Demorest, GA; several nieces, nephews and numerous other family members. The family will receive friends Sunday, November 2, 2014 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at St. Julian’s Episcopal Church, 5400 Stewart Mill Road, Douglasville, GA 30135. Memorial Services will be conducted Sunday, November 2, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the St. Julian’s Episcopal Church with Father Brandon Duke officiating. Flowers accepted or in lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Starting Over Program or Back Pack Ministries of St. Julian’s Episcopal Church, 5400 Stewart Mill Road, Douglasville, GA 30135.
