Mrs. Cleo “Mimi” DeWayne Babcock Screven, age 94, of Lithia Springs, Georgia passed away Monday, August 20, 2012 at Wellstar Douglas Hospital. She was born May 8, 1918 in Nashville, Tennessee the daughter of the late Mr. Burt DeWayne Babcock and the late Mrs. Eva Mae Nance Babcock. She retired from Aetna Life & Casualty Insurance Company. She volunteered for the Ladies Auxiliary at Parkway Medical Center. She was an outgoing people person that enjoyed the company of others. After retiring she enjoyed being a product demonstrator at Sam’s Club, a hostess at Waffle House, but most of all being a grandmother and great grandmother was her love. She was a member of the Kitchen Kiddetts and the Golden Age Club. She was an avid dancer and enjoyed music. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Screven; and sister, Hattie Mae Biles. She is survived by one daughter, Diane Screven Bradford of Lithia Springs; two grandchildren, Jeffrey Todd Bradford of Dallas and Shelley and Doug Duskin of Duluth; two great-grandchildren, Madison Lee Bradford and Chaney Reece Duskin; nephew, Bruce and Cassandra Mayfield of Locust Grove; cousins, Bill and Betty Holt of Newnan and Frances Sousa of Atlanta; several other cousins also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel, Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Thursday, August 23, 2012 from 12:00 Noon until the funeral hour. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Dr. Larry Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Atlanta. Those desiring to do so may make memorial contributions in her memory to the Lithia Springs United Methodist Church, PO Box 627, Lithia Springs, GA 30122.
