Mr. Clyde Taylor, Jr., age 80, of Carrollton, Georgia, formerly of Villa Rica, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009 at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton, Georgia. He was born December 17, 1928 in Uniontown, Alabama, the son of the late Mr. Clyde Taylor, Sr. and the late Mrs. Virginia Rushin Taylor. Mr. Taylor was a veteran of the United States Air Force from 1947 until 1950 where he served at the Pentagon. On March 3, 1978, he married Ramona Mahanna at Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta, Georgia. Mr. Taylor worked as a tank sealer for Lockheed for over 39 years. After retiring from Lockheed, he worked at Ingleâs Grocery Market in Villa Rica. Mr. Taylor was baptized at Draketown Baptist Church where he was also a member of the choir. He enjoyed bowling and was a very talented woodworking craftsman. Mr. Taylor, along with his wife Ramona, loved to dance, to travel and together they voyaged on seven cruises. He was a Master Mason at both the Meyerhardt Lodge #314 F& in Kennesaw, Georgia and the Draketown Lodge #252 F&AM. Survivors include his wife of over 30 years, Mrs. Ramona Mahanna Taylor of Villa Rica; his daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Ralph Dunn of Marietta, Rebecca and Tony Martin of White, Karen Jilinski of Sylvester and Richelle and Alan Cargile of Villa Rica; his son, Clyde Thomas Taylor of Marietta; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren also survive. Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 3:00PM from the Fellowship Hall at Draketown Baptist Church in Draketown, Georgia with Revs. Doug Weaver and Don Butler officiating.
