Mr. Cosby Carl Hilderbrand, age 89, of Douglasville passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019. He was born June 25, 1930 in Atlanta, the son of the late Mr. Edgar Ivan Hilderbrand and the late Mrs. Eva Love Chaffin Hilderbrand. Mr. Hilderbrand retired from Ryder Freight Lines after many years as a truck driver. He enjoyed helping friends and neighbors, spending time in Myrtle Beach and fishing. He was a very hard worker, always teaching his children many life lessons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Lucille Dooly Hilderbrand; son, Carl Hilderbrand, Jr.; brother, E. I. Hilderbrand, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Susan Hilderbrand; the best son-in-law a man can have, Bill Lenderman; sisters, Frances Rowan, Jewel Ross, Wylene Martin, and Betty Chapman. He is survived by his daughter, Terry Lenderman of Warner Robins; sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Melanie Hilderbrand of Douglasville, Joe and Leslie Hilderbrand of Douglasville, Bill and Amy Hilderbrand of Powder Springs; sister, Donna Paige of Suwanee, JoAnn Barger of Conyers; brother, Mike Hilderbrand of Florida; grandchildren, David Lenderman, Greg Lenderman, Cosby Hilderbrand, Caryn Hilderbrand, Lauren Hilderbrand, Sydney Hilderbrand, Alex Webber, and Josh Hilderbrand ; great-grandchildren, Emmett Lenderman, Greer Lenderman, Brooks Lenderman, Isabel Hilderbrand, Amya Hilderbrand, Kelsey Hilderbrand, Marley Hilderbrand, Peyton Prince, Cooper Prince, Lawson Beauchamp, and Elliott Webber; several nieces and nephews also survive. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions to made to the American Cancer Society, 250 Williams St NW, Atlanta, GA 30303. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Gibbs officiating.
