Curtis McKown

Mr. Curtis Hugh McKown, Jr., 90 of Douglasville, died Tuesday, August 9, 2016. He was born January 16, 1926 in Hapeville, GA the son of the late Curtis Hugh McKown, Sr. and the late Ruby Coufield McKown. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. He was a general contractor; the owner and operator or McKown Construction Company, he was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jackie McKown, brothers, Jack McKown and John Huey McKown, sisters, Lillian Rainwater, Eleanor Gilland and Mary Collins. Survivors include his wife, Judith Kay Gibson McKown of Douglasville, sons and daughters-in-law, Curtis Hugh McKown, III of Douglasville, Randall McKown of Orlando, FL, David and Sue McKown of Sacramento, CA, and Scott and Beverly McKown of Douglasville; step-children, Scott and Star Gibson of Douglasville, Mike and Melissa Gibson of Roswell, Denise and Reed Collins of Canton, NC, Leonard and Tonya Gibson of Union Point, GA; sisters, Betty Smith of Villa Rica, Barbara Pare of Carrollton and Darlene and Harris Mann of Virginia; brother, Donald McKown of Carrollton. 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home and Crematory in Douglasville, Saturday, August 13, 2016 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM.Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 12:30 PM from Beulah Cemetery in Douglasville.Messages of condolences may be sent to the family at www.jones-wynn.com, Jones-Wynn Funeral Home and Crematory of Douglasville is in charge of arrangements. 770-942-2311
