Dallas Richardson

Mrs. Dallas Watson Richardson, age 93, passed away Wednesday, April 08, 2015. She was born October 26, 1921 in Carroll County, Georgia the daughter of the late Mr. James Claude Watson and the late Mrs. Dana Olivia Arthur Watson. She married Thomas Lee Richardson on October 1, 1938 in Carrollton. She was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs. She lived in Lithia Springs fifty plus years. She retired after 22 years with Davison’s/ Macy’s Retail Store. She worked for many years at Winn-Dixie Grocery Stores. She was a member of the Kitchen Kadets and Washboard Band. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Lee Richardson; grandson, Kent Mealer; great-great grandchildren, Daniel Blake Mealer and Phenix Michael Blake Power; son-in-law, Jack Mealer; sisters, Doris Brown and Audie Watson; brothers, Carroll Watson, Billy Watson, Arthur Watson and Claude “Roger” Watson. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra R. Mealer of Villa Rica; brothers and sister-in-law, Ridley Watson of Douglasville, and Rev. Ikey and Diane Watson of Douglasville; 5 grandchildren, Alan and Charlene Mealer of Dallas, Blake and Pam Mealer of Carrollton, Regina M. and Darren Shaw of Winston, Leann M. Weaver of Villa Rica, and Christy Mealer of Villa Rica; 12 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to caregiver, Rhonda Pruitt, for your love and devotion to our family and a special family friend, Robert “Bobby” Cote. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Douglas Chapel Friday, April 10, 2015 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 3:00 PM from the Douglas Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home with Donnie Watson speaking on behalf of Rev. Ikey Watson, Dr. Marion Beaver, and Rev. Mike Sinyard officiating. Interment will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Messages of condolences to the family may be sent from www.jones-wynn.com.
