Daniel Eugene Greene, 44, of Lake Lure, NC, passed away on August 24, 2025. He was born on September 11, 1981, the beloved son of Tony Alan Greene and Judy Juanita Greene.
Daniel dedicated 12 years of hard work as an Auto Body Shop Technician. He was known for his unwavering work ethic, meticulous craftsmanship, and unique ability to personally connect with each customer and co-worker whose path he crossed.
An outdoorsman at heart, he never felt more at home or at ease than in the mountains. He loved breakfasts at local diners, riding dirt bikes, and spending time with his dogs Lamont and Esther. He loved strong coffee, good home cooking, and long rides in his Jeep on the Blue Ridge Parkway. He loved his country deeply and was drawn to its history and culture especially through country music like Johnny Cash, June Carter, George Strait, and The Judds. His kind and old soul was one he wore on his sleeve and shared freely with anyone he met. He was an amazing listener and trusted confidant. And whether you knew Daniel for minutes or years he felt like an old friend. His laughter was infectious and so genuine and you couldn’t help but laugh if he did.
He was a sweet and curious little boy who grew into a strong, but gentle man. Daniel was so proud and grateful for his family and will be remembered as a loving son and dear brother.
He is survived by his loving parents, Tony and Judy Greene, his brother Jonathan Greene, his sisters Barbara Treadwell and Priscilla Gainey, as well as his multiple nieces and nephews.
The loss of him is felt deeply by all those fortunate enough to have shared their lives with him. As we reflect on his life we are grateful for the memories we have and for the light and the laughter he has brought into our lives.
The family will receive loved ones on Monday, September 29, 2025 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel. Followed by a memorial service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made in Daniel's name to The Extension at the following link: TheExtension.org
The brotherhood Daniel found at The Extension was one he carried with him always. He found refuge and healing there in a way that brought him peace. He would be proud to know his name was a part of bringing that hope to others.
