Mr. Daniel Hill Kirby, Jr., 66, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Sunday, April 19, 2015. A native of Douglas County, he was born November 28, 1948 in Douglasville the son of the late Mr. Daniel Hill Kirby, Sr. and the late Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Morrison Fernander. He married Jackie Camp on August 14, 1966 in Walhalla, South Carolina. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic at Owens Brockway. He was a member of the Douglasville Masonic Lodge. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time at the lake. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. He was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Jackie Camp Kirby of Douglasville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Shane and Karen Kirby of Villa Rica and Josh and Heather Kirby of Temple; four grandchildren, Spenser, Gage, Sawyer, and Corrie Kirby; step-mother, Mrs. Ruby Gable Kirby; two half brothers, Michael Fernander and Nicky Fernander; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM and Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour. Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Douglasville with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. Interment and Graveside Service will be Friday, April 24, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton with Military Honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard.
