Danny B. Fleming, 76, beloved educator and cherished family member, just two days shy of her birthday, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024. She was born on November 19, 1947, the daughter of the late Charlie Merrell Ross, Sr. and the late Danny Fairdelle Wilson Ross.
Danny graduated high school from AL Miller in Macon, Georgia in 1965. She then attended and graduated from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia in 1969. She received her Masters from West Georgia College, in Carrollton, Georgia. She was a retired teacher from Douglas County Schools, she dedicated an impressive thirty-six years to educating young minds. Her passion for teaching was matched only by her love for history, which she imparted to her students with enthusiasm and dedication. Danny was not only a teacher but also a devoted family member who cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her family can attest to her unwavering support and encouragement, which left a profound impact on their lives.
Beyond her commitment to education, Danny had a wide range of interests that enriched her life. She had a deep appreciation for art, enjoyed playing games, and found solace in reading. These hobbies were not only sources of personal joy but also reflected her vibrant spirit and curiosity about the world around her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John Edmond Fleming; brother, Charlie Merrell “Bud” Ross; sister, Mary Jane “Janey” Ross.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Terry Chandler of Douglasville; sister, Betty Jo Hawthorne of Witchita, Kansas; brother, John Curtis “Jack/Beareat” Ross of Georgia; grandchildren, Bryce Oneal Chandler, Lucas Ian Chandler; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Douglas Chapel. Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 11:00 AM from the Douglasville Chapel at Jones-Wynn.
Danny Ann Ross Beck Fleming will be remembered for her contributions to education, her love of family, and her engaging personality. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched during her lifetime.
