Darryl Smith

Darryl Smith, 79, of Villa Rica, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2024. He was born on February 21, 1945, the son of the late Ullen Felton Smith and Pauline Hatcher Smith.

Darryl was a member of First Baptist Church in Atlanta for many years, where he enjoyed the men’s prayer group Pray for the Nation. He was a long time employee for AT&T. His hobbies included tinkering with cars, computers and TV repair. 

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Janice Marie Outen.

He is survived by his daughter, Shannan Norton of Villa Rica, son Alexander and Michelle Smith of Murfreesboro, TN; sister, Martha Nell (Rick) Davis of Perry, GA; two grandchildren, Justin (Lindsey) Smith and Joshua Smith; four great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Hezekiah Maria, and Phoetini; nieces and nephews, Jennifer (John) Bricken, Michael (Anna) Davis, Melanie (Gerry) Nipper, Joseph (Melanie) Outen, David Outen, and Amy Guerra.  

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 6, 2024 at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home Villa Rica Chapel from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, May 6, 2024 from the Villa Rica Chapel at Jones-Wynn.
