David Ralph Barner, 72, of Carrollton, Ga, passed away on September 25, 2025. He was born on September 30, 1952, the son of the late Aubrey Barner and the late Ruth Payne Barner.

David’s life was defined by his unwavering work ethic, his love for family, and his many hobbies.

David was not only a master of his craft in carpentry but was also known for being a hard worker and handy individual. His skillful hands built more than just structures; they created memories and shelter for those he loved. His contributions were not limited to his profession; he also took great pride in being a steadfast presence in the lives of his family.

He had a vibrant personality that shone brightly during family gatherings, where he could often be found playing with his grandchildren. David cherished these moments, creating cherished memories filled with laughter and joy. He frequented St. George Island in Florida, where he enjoyed fishing, particularly relishing the peacefulness and beauty that accompanied his time spent by the water. This passion for the outdoors was just another reflection of his adventurous spirit.

In addition to his love for fishing, David was known for his enjoyment of dancing and engaging in heartfelt conversations. Whether sharing stories or playing games, he brought warmth and laughter into every interaction, making him a beloved figure among family and friends.He loved playing basketball with his grandkids. He didn’t play games. He loved fishing, riding his bicycle, playing basketball and swinging on his porch swing.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandchildren, Jimmy Rollinson, and Michaela Barner, and his sister Wanda Faircloth Barner; and his niece Michelle Batts.


He is survived by his daughters, Kristy (Robbie) Morgan of Carrollton, GA, Elizabeth (Robby) Boyd of Winston, GA; son, David Shane (Kristin) Barner of Winston, GA; sister, Beverly Batts of Panama City, FL; eight grandchildren, Kaylie, Kaitlyn, Kinsley, Adalyn, Landon, Locklyn, Ethan, and Camron; and niece Kimberly.

In accordance with his wishes, he was cremated.

David’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him. His dedication to family and passion for life will forever be remembered and cherished.
